I'm looking for a group of christian to be a part of and to help me reconnect with Christ... I used to be a drug addict and Im still living unsurrendered, Im asking if frequency would be a good place for me to be or if I would cause problems or disrupt

I miss you guys

I love it here in Tampa, but it has been an adventure to find a church I like. I have found a couple that were "ok" but every time I am visiting another church it always makes me miss Open Door/Frequency. Open Door was the first church I visited when I moved to Cleveland and I went to Frequency that night. I still tried a few other churches on my list but I knew I found my home. I thought it would be that easy here but unfortunately...it has been the opposite.

I hope everyone is doing well! This board is dead, let's revive it!

Okay folks, the next semi-planned gathering will be held on Saturday March 10th, 2007 for an eventful night of bowling and fellowship! Come one, come all...bring as many peeps as you can!

p.s. just a note, we (frequency) will have one of these "semi-planned" gatherings EVERY 2nd Saturday of Each month...so keep an eye out for what it will be and where! The idea is to keep it simple, yet provide an avenue where people can invite friends (saved and un-saved alike) to a non-threatening gathering were they can feel free to express themselves and get to know others...and hopefully start to ask some questions about Christianity and God!

Snow removal

When was the last time you had a chance to use a snow thrower? So you now how they work? Would you prefer one over a shovel? How would you know what type to buy for your property? What is two stage vs. single stage?

Why Crashdog do you ask these questions? One may be asking, because snow is important, and removing snow is important also.

But Crashdog, how does this possibly relate to anything centered around the Christian life??

Snow is a cycle of the earth, the earth God made for us. God gave us choice; to remove snow from our path or leave it in front of us. This leads us to preparedness...move the snow and have less of a chance to fall and get injured, leave the snow and possibly incur an avalanche.

Ya see where I'm going with this? You think you know, but you have no idea...

The end of a short era

     Well guys... I moved to Cleveland in June from Houston, Texas to work for the Browns. I graduated from college in May and left the best 3 years of my life back in the south. I had a girlfriend who was my best friend and the best companion I ever had. I had many friends and lived a great life. Sure college was stressful at times but I wished for it back everyday. I played softball 4 days a week and hung out with tons of friends.
     I visited a few different churches for about 6 weeks but never got the same awesome vibe that I did from Open Door and Frequency. I liked them even better than my church back in Texas. And the church I went to when I was in college had really gone down a bad road, so I hadn't been in church regularly for over a year. I really got back into it in the summer before I got too busy with the Browns. I realized shortly after that my relationship with my girlfriend was not progressing spiritually. She was catholic when I had met her a year and a half earlier...and I guess I just thought something would change, but it didn't. She was the same as the day I met her. I ended it.
     And I then went onto experience the most depression I have ever known. From July-October I was in a terrible funk. I was up here living the dream, working for my favorite team, but I was unhappy. The Lord was merciful as always and helped me through it. He spoke to me randomly when I was visiting another church one day and told me to just pray right then and there. So I did and he spoke to me loud and clear. "You're moving to Tampa, Florida in January when the Browns season ends." I'm sitting there thinking...ummm random! When I looked back up on the projector for the lyrics the picture had changed to a beautiful beach with white sands and clear, blue water, the same image I had when I visited Clearwater Beach in 2004. He said to me, I'm telling you this because I want you to look to the future instead of dwelling on the past. So, while I knew I would not stay in Cleveland permanently, I never dreamed he would provide a way for me to live in probably my number one choice city in the country. I do not have a job officially lined up, but he told me to just go and not wait around to get hired. Just go. Your wife is there. So my next step is that I can't wait to come back onto the ole' Frequency message board and give my praise report that I met someone special! When I visited Tampa in October, the depression did not completely leave but it wore off significantly. I know if my life was without God, it would have been even harder.
     But I did not mean to get into all that, I know this has been very long. But this is what I really wanted to say. I wanted to thank everyone at Open Door who provided a place for me to call my church home, even if it was only for 6-7 months. I want to thank everyone for the genuine, heart felt attitudes towards me, and just for making me feel like I was someone who had been there for years. I appreciate every time I got invited to go out after church to eat, even though 95% of the time I could not make it. But I was still asked every Sunday, and it really meant a lot to me. I wish I could have gone out more but work was killing me throughout the season.
     I told some people that last Sunday was my last Frequency. Well, I am going to actually bring my dad this Sunday who is flying up here to help me drive to Tampa Monday morning. So this Sunday will be the last one for me. Frequency and all of the people that make it up will be missed, and I thank you all for befriending me for this period in my life.

My good friend Kermit the frog would say "It's not easy being green" but might think twice once he saw the new Frequency homepage and the late pterodactyl costume.....What does everyone think of the new look for 2007? To much green? To many pinstripes? Give me your opinion on all things green and don't be afraid to hurt my feelings...

Grace Abuse

Sunday night, we talked about what the fact that even though we are saved by grace, we can't go doing whatever we want. Fellowship with God involves a lifestlye of godlinless. We talked about how Godliness means more than not sinning...it involves following Christ.

At Frequency, we have the mission of leading our generation in the adventure of becoming like Christ.

Here's my question: what specific things must we do as we follow Christ to fulfill this mission?

Fences

Fences.

Fences to keep people out and keep people in. Fences to keep dogs away from little children and cats. Fences to keep cattle in and wolves out. Fences to mark ones territory. Fences to provide safety. Fences to keep the neighbors from watching. Fences to keep immigrants out and keep death camp victims in. Fences to control. Fences to keep snow drifts at specific places. Fences to get a better price on a 60 flat screen (had to throw that one in here!) Fences to keep cars on lots. Fences to restrict access. Fences to jump. Fences to grind(remember I skate). Fences to keep the airport safe from terrorists. Fences to A fence to keep sin out. Fences to create a reason for the words you now read.

Were the gates the angel guarded enclosed by a fence? Did God create the first fence? When I lived in Cleveland I would walk into the backyard, it was a short walk, and want to remove all the fences. On our right we had a natural fence of shrubbery, on the left a standard 7 wooden fence, and to the rear a 6 fence also made of wood. Almost every yard was separated.
Why is it so important to keep the neighbors out and exclude them from your activities or parties? Why do we not invite and enjoy others company? Why are so many people upset about illegal aliens? Are we not all illegal aliens? To quote(more like paraphrase) the book of Job, naked I came here, and naked I will leave.
I have received e-mail upon e-mail about how bad it is that illegal aliens are in our country. It is making me upset, and for those of you who know me, I dont get upset easily. They claim we pay for their healthcare, prison, taxes, education, and so on. My question to those who would cast the first stone, who cared for you when you could not, and whose money is it that is being spent? Sure I live in Ohio and do not see the immediate impact of illegals, so who am I to say a single word?

In closing I offer this: We are here to die. We are born, we breath, we eat, we make a choice to serve Jesus or satan, and then we die. I choose to serve Jesus because it works for me. If you agree with the above points good, if you do not just keep walkin as you go and see how it works out.
